Treatments

Braces are orthodontic devices designed to correct the alignment of teeth and jaws for improved dental health and aesthetics.

What are the different types of braces?

The most commonly used braces are the metallic ones. For patients seeking a more aesthetic approach, three other treatment types are available. First, there are ceramic braces, which match the shape of metallic braces but are white in color. Second, there are the “hidden” braces, also known as lingual braces, which are attached to the back of the teeth. And last but not least, there are aligners — the “no braces” treatment — clear trays that you can remove whenever you want.

Lingual braces or Invisible braces !

Lingual orthodontic treatment is an alternative to traditional treatment, designed to satisfy patients who wish to have their teeth aligned but do not want the labial brackets that shows when they talk or smile. Lingual braces are custom made fixed braces bonded to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people. Don’t confuse them with so-called “ceramic” braces, which are merely semi-transparent ceramic attached to the front of the teeth.

How are Braces done?

Our orthodontist will bond the brackets to your teeth from outside or inside depending on each case. Afterwards, he will place a metal wire that will apply pressure to the teeth in order to move them into the desired position. You will have to come every 3-6 weeks for some adjustments and the average time for a complete orthodontic treatment is around two years.

After completing your treatment you will have to wear a retainer to ensure that your teeth will not move again.
